HUNTINGTON, N.Y. - December 8, 2003 - Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Griffon Corporation (NYSE: GFF), announced today its integrated circuit ('IC') subsidiary, TLSI Inc., has introduced the first members of its new family of standard logic translators. The T73LVPxx family feature 3.3-volt operation, wide operating frequency (typically >1 GHz for transmitters, >500 MHz for receivers), low propagation delays (typically 350 picoseconds for transmitters, 1.2 nanoseconds for receivers) and low power supply current drain over the full industrial temperature range from -40oC to +85oC.
The family of logic translators consists initially of the following devices:
| T73LVP12 | TTL/CMOS-to-LVPECL (transmitter, with output enable) |
| T73LVP20 | TTL/CMOS-to-LVPECL (transmitter, replaces MC100EPT20D) |
| T73LVP21 | LVPECL-to-TTL/CMOS (receiver, replaces MC100EPT21D) |
| T73LVP22 | Dual TTL/CMOS-to-LVPECL (transmitter, replaces MC100EPT22D) |
| T73LVP23 | Dual LVPECL-to-TTL/CMOS (receiver, replaces MC100EPT23D) |
All of the current devices in the family are available in the industry standard 8-pin, narrow body, SOIC package (4mm x 5mm x 1.35mm). In addition, the single transmitters and receivers (T73LVP12, LVP20, LVP21) are also available in the industry-leading, ultra-small 6-pin SOT-23 package (1.7mm x 3mm x 1.25mm). These package options make the T73LVPxx family ideal for applications where space, performance and low power are at a premium.
These high-performance logic translators have application in multi-port Gigabit Ethernet NIC's, networking line/access cards, storage area networks, hubs/routers/switches, servers and workstations. In addition, these cost-effective translators can be used in conjunction with a low cost TTL/CMOS output oscillator to implement a low cost LVPECL oscillator.
Availability:
Production quantities of the T73LVP12, LVP20 and LVP21 are available now and are priced at $1.35 in 10,000 pc. quantities (8-pin SOIC package). The T73LVP22 and LVP23 are currently available in sample quantities with production quantities to be available in November, 2003. These dual devices are priced at $2.49 in 10,000 pc. quantities (8-pin SOIC package). These devices are also available in die form shipped in waffle packs. For higher volume pricing consult the factory.
